Japanese Tabi Socks

Description

  • White pair of traditional Japanese split-toe socks, called tabi.
  • Socks are made of cotton and have metal fasteners on the heel with Japanese characters.
  • Socks have a separation between the big toe and the second toe, so that they can be worn with geta or zori footwear.

Background Information

  • Purchased as a memento by Robert Rawlings who drilled in Sumatra on two contracts between 1880 and 1902.
