  • The handle is carved from a dark wood.

A double-edged knife with a smooth, dark wooden handle. The blade of the knife has three grooves running down its length. The leather sheath has decorations along the front and a twisted rope handle. The tip of the sheath is coated in a light material.

Fred Edward was born into oil work. His father, A.C. Edward, was a Scottish immigrant to Petrolia and split his time between working for the British Oil Company and managing several wells on his own land.

A baseball team. Half the men are standing and half are sitting. Most are wearing white t-shirts. They are in front of a group of trees and a building. There are three baseball bats set up like a tripod in front of them with a ball resting on top. Some other equipment is also in front of them.

Egypt

Not all International Drillers returned home to Lambton County. For James McCrie it wasn’t the harsh working conditions, deadly diseases, or dangers of war that signalled his end, McCrie was one of the 1,519 people who died aboard the HMS Titanic.

Artifact
A brick building with birdcages hanging from the top of the windows and along ropes strung across to the next building. There is a group of people outside. Signs on the store front advertise "Trading - Seward's Menagerie" and the animals they sell.

Gregory worked his way up from a scaffold boy, to a labourer on production and drilling crews, to eventually becoming a producer of oil dipping equipment.
