Malayan Kris Knife

Description

  • Knife blade is wavy with a wide, asymmetrical base. The blade is very rusty with a hole near the base. 
  • The handle is carved from a dark wood. 

Background Information

  • Given to Leo A Wilson by a Malayan Chieftain on the island of Sumatra.
  • This type of dagger is called kris and functions as both a weapon and a spiritual item. 
  • Poison was supposedly infused into the blade during the forging process.
  • Wavy blade would inflict a wound which would break out into sores every six months.
