Description
A three-pronged spear made of wood with metal spearheads tied to the ends. The ends of the three prongs are woven onto the end of a main shaft of wood using string.
The string surrounding the spearhead is covered in fi mi tikah, a special wax that would prevent the string from falling apart and getting wet as it sliced through the water.
The metal spearheads have a single barb on the end and a smaller barb about 1.5 inches away.
Background Information
Used for fishing by the British Guiana (modern Guyana) and tribes of the tributaries of the Amazon River, in South America.
