Knife and Sheath
Description
- Brown leather sheath with tooled leather and decoratively stitched.
- Sheath has rows of braided green leather which adorn the top pocket, and a leather fringe at the bottom end.
- Two leather loops on the back to attach to a belt.
- The metal blade has one cutting edge and a quillon below the handle.
- The handle is made of molded metal to look like bark.
Background Information
- Knife and sheath were given to Albert Huggard by the natives of Madagascar while he was there on an oil exploration trip.
- Huggard died in 1914 when his group was poisoned during a dinner.
