Knife and Sheath
Description
Brown leather sheath with tooled leather and decoratively stitched.
Sheath has rows of braided green leather which adorn the top pocket, and a leather fringe at the bottom end.
Two leather loops on the back to attach to a belt.
The metal blade has one cutting edge and a quillon below the handle.
The handle is made of molded metal to look like bark.
Background Information
Knife and sheath were given to Albert Huggard by the natives of Madagascar while he was there on an oil exploration trip.
Huggard died in 1914 when his group was poisoned during a dinner.
