Description

  • List of tools required for a drilling rig, compiled by Robert Rawlings. 
  • Page 4 lists 2000 feet of ash poles, indicating that he is using the Canadian pole-tool drilling method
  • It is unclear whether Rawlings wrote the list for his own use before leaving for Sumatra, or whether he compiled the list for use by future International Drillers. 

Background Information

  • Part of a collection of mementoes belonging to Robert Rawlings who drilled in Sumatra on two contracts between 1880 and 1902.
