Protection Stick
Description
- L-shaped protection stick or club, carried for protection against animals or enemies.
- The stick is lightweight, carved out of wood.
- Handle is a wider, smooth piece of wood with twine wrapped at one end.
- Club end is made with a hollowed piece of wood, wrapped in strips of wood.
- A stone could be placed in the hollow bottom and thrown at an enemy.
Background Information
- Purchased as a memento by Robert Rawlings who drilled in Sumatra on two contracts between 1880 and 1902.
