Opium Pipe

Description

  • Small opium pipe consists of two metal pieces with an orange-colour wood in the middle. 
  • The metal pipe-bowl is attached to the orange pipe by a metal saddle with Japanese characters. 
  • Has a metal mouth piece, not shown

Background Information

  • Purchased as a memento by Robert Rawlings who drilled in Sumatra on two contracts between 1880 and 1902.
