Description

  • Clay painted figurine of a woman standing on a painted wooden base. 
  • Woman is wearing sandals and is dressed in a blue skirt with an embroidered design along the edge, as well as an orange lliklla (rectangular shoulder cloth fastened at the front). 
  • She is carrying a spool for hand-spinning wool and a scarf of llama's wool. 
  • The inverted-shaped hat shows that the woman is from an area near the Andes Mountains near Huancayo. 

Background Information

  • From the collection of John Braybrook, International Driller in Colombia from 1930 to 1943.
