Fishing Spear
Description
Metal spearhead with a single barb on the end, and a second smaller barb about 1.5 inches down.
The spearhead is tied to a wooden shaft with string.
The string surrounding the spear head is covered in fi mi tikah, a special wax that would prevent the string from falling apart and getting wet as it sliced through the water.
Background Information
Used for fishing by the British Guiana (modern Guyana) and tribes of the tributaries of the Amazon River, in South America.
