Artifact
Quiver
Description
Quiver is made from slender reeds that are woven together to make a long basket. The outside of the basket is encased in a black rubber from the bully tree which is native to the Northern Amazon. The bark of the tree is nicked by a machete and a natural rubber, called balata, is extracted.
A second, smaller basket is attached to the main quiver, and is full of native cotton.
The cotton is placed on the ends of the darts so that they can be pushed through a blow gun.
