Wooden Chest

Description

  • Hand-carved chest made from camphor wood. 
  • Inside bottom of the chest has a removable tray, as well as two drawers on the left side. 
  • Inside top of the chest is divided into three compartments. Two of the compartment doors are carved with flowers. The middle compartment door contains a mirror. 
  • Corners are covered with brass plates. 
  • Handles and lock also made of brass.
  • A name plate on the top of the lid reads "Wm Rawson". 

Background Information

  • Purchased by William Rawson in Hong Kong during one of his drilling contracts.
