Description

  • A group of six International Drillers standing inside an oil rig. 
  • All of the men are wearing dark-coloured shorts, white shirts and hats. Their clothing is quite dirty. 
  • The man on the left is holding onto the cable which is connected to the drill bit. 
  • Left to right: Mr. Tulley, John MacKenzie, Robert Launder, Sammy Mason, Albert Haley, James F. Nisbet. 

Background Information

  • Part of a photograph collection belonging to James and Stuart Nisbet who worked in British Borneo (modern Malaysia) in the 1920s.
