Description

  • Several oil derricks are scattered throughout the landscape. 
  • Probably the Yenangyaung Oil Field, Burma (modern Myanmar).
  • Closest oil derrick shows the walking beam, used to pull up and push down on the pumping equipment. 
  • Pipelines can be seen leading from the derricks to cylindrical storage tanks. 

Background Information

  • Many International Drillers worked at the Yenangyaung Oil Field in Burma (modern Myanmar), including William Gillespie, and Arthur Brown who played a role in destroying the field during the Second World War.
