Clock

Description

  • Carved teak clock and wall mount. 
  • Floral designs cover most of the clock and mount. A peacock sits at the top of the clock and two dragons form the supports for the wall mount. 

Background Information

  • Commissioned in Burma (modern Myanmar) by International Driller George Miller, who worked there for the Imperial Oil Company from 1915 until 1917. 
  • The clock works were procured by Batley, a jeweller on Front St., Sarnia, from a clock maker in Kitchener. Mr. W.J. Miller was employed by Batley at the time and it was he who fitted the clock.
