Pagoda at Nikko Toshogu Shrine, Japan

Description

  • A five-storey pagoda located at the Toshogu Shrine in Nikko, Japan. 
  • The original pagoda was built in 1650, but burned down and was rebuilt in 1818.
  • The photograph has been tinted with colour. 

Background Information

  • Part of a photograph collection belonging to Robert Rawlings, who drilled for oil in Sumatra from 1890 until 1902.
