A steam boiler is visible to the left of the derrick which provides power to the drilling mechanism.
Two tents provide shade for the workers in the hot desert climate.
The derrick is identified as "Daldari No. 2".
Background Information
Part of a photograph collection belonging to Ernest Kells who worked in Persia (modern Iran) in the 1920s.
