Description

  • Seven-tiered pagoda at the Mahamuni Buddha Temple in Mandalay, Burma (modern Myanmar). 
  • The image of Buddha deified in this temple is originally from Arakan, on the western coast of Burma. 

Background Information

  • Part of a photo album put together by William Gillespie, who drilled for oil in Burma from 1913 to 1916.
