Description

  • Duplicate copy of the drilling contract for Ernest Edward Kells to drill in Persia (modern Iran) and/or Iraq for three years from February 1929.
  • Blueish thick paper, folded into quarters length-wise
  • Pre-printed contract that has been filled in by hand

  • Employed by the First Exploitation Company, Ltd. 
  • Passage from Petrolia, Ontario to Persia (modern Iran) and/or Iraq will be paid for by the company as well as the return upon completion of the contract.
  • Paid $12CAD per ten-hour day of work; will be provided with 25 days of work per month.
  • To be provided with furnished quarters or a tent with camp equipment and £13.10 per month for messing and servants.
  • Father, William Kells of Petrolia, is listed as the next of kin.
