Description

  • A group of International Drillers standing outside oil well #2 Godown, near Miri, Sarawak (British Borneo, modern Malaysia). 
  • Many of the drillers are wearing the traditional white muslin suit and pith helmet. 
  • Two drillers sit on horses. Two cars are present as well as a motorcycle with sidecar. 

Background Information

  • Part of a photographic collection belonging to James and Stuart Nisbet who worked in British Borneo (modern Malaysia) in the 1920s.
