Customs Receipt for Buffalo Heads

Description

  • Document from the United States Express Company to the Customs Collector in Petrolia regarding a shipment of 25 buffalo heads sent from Calcutta. 
  • The document was prepared for John Growder. He has added a post-script to the bottom asking that the tea and buffalo heads be delivered to Peter Growder, his brother. 

Background Information

  • International Driller John Growder worked in India for over 20 years, from around 1898 until 1922.
