Description

  • Written on the back of the picture: "Said to be life-sized images of Buddah sufficient to reach eight miles if placed shoulder to shoulder." 

Background Information

  • Part of a photograph collection belonging to Robert Rawlings, who drilled for oil in Sumatra from 1890 until 1902.
