Batavian Oil Company Agreement

Description

  • Contract made between De Bataafsche Petroleum Maatschappij (also known as the Batavian Oil Company, a subsidiary of Royal Dutch Shell) and Frederick T. Webb for a period of three years beginning on August 19, 1908 to drill for oil in Borneo. 

Background Information

  • This was probably the second contract signed by Frederick Thomas Webb to drill in Borneo, as it is known that he signed his first contract in 1906.
