  • Back of the postcard reads: "On the banks of the Nile. Dear Mother, your valentine received a thousand thanks have not time to write a letter before the boat leaves but will have one ready next time am in the best of health expect to be putting up rig in a week with love to all. Will."
  • Postcard is addressed to Ellen Gillespie of Petrolia, Ontario

Background Information

  • Part of a postcard collection belonging to William Gillespie who worked in the Dutch East Indies (modern South East Asia) in the 1920s.
